Andy and Erin

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about us as you consider adoption. We were blessed once by a birthmother who chose us to be parents to her daughter and we are grateful that you are considering us for your child.

We met when we were in college at Ball State, during our junior year. It was one of those fairy tale stories where the boy and girl meet, fall in love, and know they are going to be together for the rest of their lives. That is exactly what happened; we got married two days after Christmas in 2003.  In 2009, we were blessed with the adoption of our daughter. We knew that God was calling us to adopt, but we had no idea how amazing this journey would be and how truly blessed we would be to have our daughter in our lives.

We live in Northeastern Indiana with our daughter, Emerson. Andy is a High School Teacher and Football Coach and Erin is a Human Resources Manager. When we are not at work, our family spends most of our time outside on our cul-de-sac with our neighbors and their kids. We have been very blessed to live where we live and have the neighbors we have. On our street there are fourteen kids, ten of whom are eight or younger. They all love to play together on the swing sets, draw on the driveways with chalk, or just run or ride bikes. The parents are all good friends, and look out for everyone else’s children. It is truly an idyllic neighborhood, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to raise our family. In addition to time outside in the neighborhood, we love to attend high school sporting events where Andy is coaching and vacation as a family. We are all looking forward to our annual family vacation this summer and a trip to Disney.

We now feel that God is again calling us to expand our family by adopting, especially since our daughter has begun asking when she will have a little baby in the house to play with. We want nothing more than to add to our family through adoption so our children can journey through life with a sibling/friend/partner who is also adopted. We believe that is a bond that only another adopted child will be able to understand.
